Food Rescue Programme

Food Angel collects surplus food that remains safe for consumption from the local food industry, visiting over 500 collection points daily—including hotels, supermarkets, restaurants, and markets. Since our founding, more than 1,000 businesses have supported us through food donations. Today, we rescue an average of 38 tonnes of edible surplus food every week. All collected ingredients undergo rigorous safety checks before being carefully transformed by our chef team into nutritious meals that bring warmth and sustenance to those in need.

Food rescue is a shared mission. Our logistics team regularly collects surplus ingredients from partners across the city, while smart donation machines and collection bins make it easy for anyone to donate unopened, non-expired dry goods. Together, we can all play a part in reducing food waste.

Food Collection Points

Corporate and Bulk Food Donations

We warmly invite organizations, corporations, and groups to join our food rescue programme. Together, we can transform surplus food into a powerful force for community care—ensuring valuable resources are reused and those in need are nourished. To help make the donation process smooth and seamless, please take note of the following:

Types of Acceptable Food Donations

  • Food with a shelf life of two weeks or more
  • Unopened, intact dry goods and beverages
  • Fresh produce (fruits, vegetables, etc.)
  • Groceries and condiments (rice, noodles, oil, sauces, etc.)
  • Chilled and frozen food
  • Baked goods
  • Cooked food

Donation Methods and Contact

For donations of 50kg or more per batch, Food Angel can arrange for our logistics team to collect them. Please contact us to schedule a collection, or after prior coordination, you may deliver food directly to a designated collection point.

Individual Food Donations

Everyone is welcome to participate as an individual. Simply drop off suitable food items at our smart donation machines or collection boxes across Hong Kong—an easy way to help reduce food waste.

Food Donation Guidelines

  • Expiry Date: At least 4 weeks until expiry
  • Packaging: Intact, unopened, non-glass containers
  • Accepted Items: Dry goods, groceries, condiments, etc.
  • Not Accepted: Frozen, chilled, fresh, or baked goods, nor any food products in glass containers or those that are expired.
