The Birth of Rice Boy

Born from a sun-kissed paddy field and raised on the farmer's toil, I am a humble grain of rice. At Food Angel, I found a new mission. I am no longer just food; I am a vessel of warmth and a symbol of the love and care that connects us all.

Now crowned with a warm halo, I am "Rice Boy"—the ever-smiling ambassador of the Food Angel family. This light symbolizes gratitude and the joy of sharing. I delight in accompanying Food Angel's trucks as they weave through Hong Kong's bustling streets, whether collecting food donations or delivering nourishing meals to those who need them most. My mission is to offer a simple, gentle reminder: every grain of rice embodies nature's grace and human warmth, and deserves to be received with a grateful heart.

Rice's Vision

I, Rice Boy, carry a simple yet steadfast wish—and I'm bringing it to life through three heartfelt actions.

My dream goes beyond filling empty stomachs; it's about nourishing souls that long for kindness. I believe that through food recovery, food assistance, and public education, we can join hands to create a Hong Kong where waste and hunger are things of the past—a city filled with love and the joy of sharing.

Extending Value Through Food Rescue

I travel to every restaurant and market in Hong Kong, rescuing edible surplus food that might otherwise be forgotten and safely delivering it to Food Angel. My promise is simple: no good food should ever go to waste.

Spreading Warmth Through Food Assistance

I transform rescued food into nourishing meals and care packages, hand-delivering them to those who need them most.
So that the elderly receive a warm greeting along with their meal, children are given the chance to grow up healthy and strong, and families facing hardship feel the embrace of a caring community.

This is my greatest dream. I want to go into schools and neighborhoods, using my story to awaken a sense of respect and gratitude for food. I hope to plant a seed in every heart—one that grows into a natural habit of treasuring resources and looking out for one another.
